For a new project at a major industrial site in the Ghent region, we are looking for an experienced Prevention Advisor Level I. In this key role you are a strategic partner for management and a driving force behind a strong safety culture on site. You work independently, take initiative and easily find your way in a dynamic, demanding production environment.
About the role
As Prevention Advisor Level I you help steer the site’s safety, health and well-being policy. You combine a strategic vision with operational involvement: you advise management, support line managers and are visibly present on the shop floor. You translate legislation and risk analyses into concrete, workable measures and help build a safe and compliant working environment.
What will you do?
- Advise management on the safety, health and well-being policy and the legal obligations.
- Perform and supervise risk analyses and contribute to the global prevention plan and the annual action plan.
- Lead incident and accident investigations, perform root cause analyses and follow up preventive measures.
- Support and coach line managers in their safety responsibilities.
- Organise training sessions, toolbox meetings and awareness campaigns on safety and well-being.
- Monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations and manage the prevention files.
- Initiate and independently follow up improvement projects that contribute to a strong safety culture.
What do you bring?
- Prevention Advisor Level I diploma (required).
- Management experience and a proven ability to work independently and take initiative.
- At least several years of relevant experience as a prevention advisor in an industrial or production environment (more experience is a strong plus).
- An enthusiastic self-starter who easily finds their way within a complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of safety legislation and risk management.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
- A hands-on mentality combined with an analytical and project-based approach.
- Available as soon as possible.
What do we offer?
- A key role on a prestigious industrial project in the Ghent region.
- A challenging, dynamic environment where safety is central and your work makes a visible difference.
- Room to help shape the safety policy and lead your own improvement projects.
- Choice between permanent employment (secondment) or freelance.
