For an international market leader in chemical distribution and storage we are looking for an HSE Specialist with strong expertise in ATEX and process safety. You will join the site in Deerlijk (Kortrijk region): a dynamic SEVESO environment where safety, sustainability and operational excellence are central.
About the role
As HSE Specialist ATEX & Process Safety you monitor and improve the site’s HSE performance. You are the subject-matter expert for explosion safety and process safety, and you translate legislation and risk analyses into concrete measures on the shop floor.
What will you do?
- Monitor and improve the site’s HSE performance.
- Manage and update the ATEX zoning file and the explosion protection document (EPD).
- Perform risk analyses and process safety studies (HAZOP, LOPA and similar).
- Follow up the SEVESO obligations and legal compliance.
- Investigate incidents and follow up corrective actions.
- Raise awareness and coach employees on safety culture.
What do you bring?
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical or prevention-oriented field.
- Experience with ATEX, process safety and preferably a SEVESO context.
- Knowledge of the relevant legislation (Belgian Codex on Well-being at Work, ATEX 153/114).
- Prevention Advisor Level 1 or 2 is a strong plus.
- Analytical, communicative and hands-on on the shop floor.
- Fluent Dutch and a good knowledge of English.
